#BLACKLIVESMATTER

I’m sure you are all aware of the recent tragedy that occurred in Minneapolis with the death of George Floyd, by a police officer, that has flooded our social media and news outlets.

This is just a fraction of what occurs EVERY single day for a Black individual. It is not getting worse; it is only getting spoken about. People are starting to record such tragedies and using social media for the greater good; to be heard worldwide.

Racism is an on-going issue within the world. It is a frightful thing that we are in 2020 and Black Men & Women cannot walk down the streets without someone accusing them of participating in illegal activities. They cannot live the life that a White individual is able to. They cannot enjoy life that a White individual is able to do. This must stop.

It’s come to the point where we cannot trust the people who are meant to save and help us in situations like this. White supremacy needs to stop. It’s 2020 for goodness sake! Blacks, Asians, Latinas and countless more cannot endure this any much longer. As a Brown individual I will do my ABSOLUTE best to 1. help to bring Justice to all those who have been murdered because of their skin colour and 2. to help make a change.

Please, everyone, help in making this change. Staying silent in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side oppressor.

1. Sign Petitions - sign petitions, there are petitions to bring JusticeForGeorgeFloyd and within the BLACKLIVESMATTER movement.

2. Donate - if you can, please donate.

· GoFundMe - set up by George Floyds sister

3. Spread Awareness - use your social media to voice your opinions. Spread awareness to those whom are not fully informed in the situation.

4. SPEAK UP - voice your opinion. Correct your family, friends, anyone if they are wrong. EDUCATE them. Use your voice to help make a change.

5. Unearth your internalised Anti-Blackness - take this time to reflect on how your Anti-Blackness occurs in your daily life. CHANGE IT.

6. Text 'Floyd' to 55156 to demand JusticeForGeorgeFloyd

To those who are silent and not helping this movement, please unfollow me, unfriend me or whatever. We do NOT share the same values.
